FAQ

Questions, answered.

The most common things people ask before booking a remote or mobile notary in Colorado.

Is remote online notarization legal in Colorado?
Yes. Colorado's Revised Uniform Law on Notarial Acts authorizes remote online notarization. Each notary must be specifically authorized for RON in addition to the standard commission and must use a state-approved technology provider. We satisfy both requirements.
Will an out-of-state company accept a Colorado RON?
In most cases, yes. Federal interstate recognition and the Revised Uniform Law on Notarial Acts mean a properly executed Colorado RON is generally valid in every U.S. state. A handful of document types (some real-property records in specific counties) may still require an in-person notary in the document's home state — when in doubt, ask the receiving party first.
What identification do I need?
A current, government-issued photo ID — most commonly a driver's license, state ID, or passport. The platform also runs five dynamic knowledge-based authentication questions. If you can't pass the KBA, we can switch you to an in-person mobile appointment.
What can't be notarized online?
Wills and codicils typically cannot be notarized remotely in Colorado. Certain real-estate filings in other states may also require an in-person notary in that state. We'll flag any issue before you book and refund the appointment if it can't proceed.
How fast can I get an appointment?
Most remote appointments are available within an hour. Mobile in-person signings within the Denver metro are usually same-day; closings and real estate signings are typically next-business-day.
How do I pay?
Secure card payment via Stripe at the time of booking. Law firms and title companies can be invoiced Net 15 once an account is established.
Are sessions recorded?
Yes. Colorado requires RON sessions to be recorded and securely stored for ten years. The recording is kept by our state-approved technology provider and is accessible only to authorized parties on a lawful request.
Do you witness signatures too?
Yes. For documents that require witnesses in addition to a notary (most commonly POAs and advance directives in some states), we can arrange one or two impartial witnesses to join your session for a small additional fee.
